You are probably used to watching cinema movies with the lights turned off. But today, you can find home theatre projectors that work perfectly well with the lights on. It all depends on your projector’s brightness output. That means that if you prefer to watch movies in a dark room, then, a home theatre projector with 2000 to 2400 lumens of brightness will do. If you would prefer to watch yours in a lighted room or without having to close the curtains, you will need the one of at least 3000 lumens.
But do bear in mind that darker rooms enable the movie quality to be bold and not look like it is washed out
You have to check if where you intend using for the home theatre projector is spacious enough. You may need to mount a motorized or manual drop-down screen which you can fix to your ceiling. The screen can also be fixed to the wall or you can choose a special paint for projectors and paint the wall. The distance between where you intend to use for the screen and the projector should be between 1.5 or 2.5 meters. There are some projectors that can project 100-inch screens in a small room. Just make sure that the home theatre projector, speakers and the A/V receiver you decide on will accommodate other furniture and fit into your home. If you plan to use it in outdoors, you can also check portable projectors
