Introducing the DTP2 Series, the Next Generation of Extron DTP Technology

Extron Electronics is pleased to introduce the new DTP2 Series, a family of twisted pair extenders with advanced performance and innovative features. The DTP2 Series accommodates the full 18 Gbps data rate of HDMI 2.0b and supports video signals at resolutions up to 4K/60 at 4:4:4 chroma sampling. These HDCP 2.2 compliant products can also be used for distribution of 4K HDR. The new series includes the DTP2 T 211 transmitter, DTP2 R 211 receiver, and the DTP2 T 212 switcher with integrated DTP2 transmitter, plus an independently assignable local HDMI output. The DTP2 Series is designed for distribution of HDMI and audio, as well as bidirectional RS‑232 and IR signals up to 330 feet (100 meters) over a shielded CATx cable. The compact enclosure sizes and remote power capability make the DTP2 Series ideal for discreet placement in lecterns, beneath tables, behind flat panel displays, or wherever needed to meet application requirements.

The DTP2 Series delivers reliable, long distance transmission of video, audio, and control signals. They support data rates up to 18 Gbps, Deep Color up to 12-bit, CEC pass-through, and embedded HD lossless audio formats. In addition to supporting higher video data rates, DTP2 products offer new capabilities. The DTP2 T 212 switcher drives the DTP 2 and HDMI outputs simultaneously with the selected signal. To support local monitor applications, the HDMI output can be assigned to either of the HDMI inputs.

Extron adds HDMI audio embedder with 4K support

Extron has introduced the HAI 100 4K, an audio embedder that embeds two-channel analog audio or digital two-channel S/PDIF audio onto the HDMI output signal.

The HAI 100 4K includes an HDMI input, analog stereo audio and S/PDIF audio inputs, as well as an HDMI output. It is HDCP compliant, supports data rates up to 10.2 Gbps, and is compatible with video resolutions up to 4K.

The HAI 100 4K includes features such as adjustable gain control for the analog audio input, EDID Minder for simplified EDID management between the input source and the display, plus HDMI input cable equalisation and comprehensive LED status display.

It is suitable for applications requiring audio from a sound system to be embedded with an HDMI video signal, supporting systems that rely on HDMI for signal distribution.

Additionally, to compensate for signal loss over long input cables, incoming HDMI signals are equalised up to 50 feet (15 metres) at 4K or 100 feet (30 metres) at 1080p/60 when used with Extron HDMI Pro cables. LEDs on the front panel offer real-time device status monitoring, including HDMI input and output signal presence, and HDCP authentication.

The Extron DTP DVI 4K 230 D Tx is a Decora®-style transmitter for sending DVI‑D video, audio, and bidirectional RS‑232 and IR signals up to 230 feet (70 meters) over a shielded CATx cable to Extron DTP®‑enabled products. It provides an economical and effective means for extending single link DVI-D or HDMI signals. The DTP DVI 4K 230 D Tx accepts analog stereo audio signals for simultaneous transmission over the same shielded twisted pair cable. It supports video signals at resolutions up to 4K, including 1080p/60 Deep Color. The transmitter is equipped with a buffered DVI loop-through output for a local computer monitor. The wall-mountable design and remote power capability of the DTP DVI 4K 230 D Tx provide the convenience of placing input connections precisely where they are needed.

Extron Introduces Next Generation of Fiber Optic Audio Extractors

Extron Electronics is pleased to introduce two new fiber optic products for the FOX II Series, the FOX II AEX 108eight-port and PowerCage FOX II AEX 104 four port audio extractors. They provide independent processing and routing of audio signals in a fiber optic AV distribution system. Each fiber optic input port extracts the two channel audio signal to provide analog balanced or unbalanced stereo audio. The audio extractors are available in multimode and singlemode models. The PowerCage FOX II AEX 104, designed to mount in the PowerCage 1600 enclosure, and the rack-mountable FOX II AEX 108 are ideal for use in FOX Matrix systems that require extraction of audio signals for local processing within the equipment room.

Extron Introduces Two Input DTP Transmitters for EU and MK Junction Boxes

Anaheim, California (July 3, 2014) – Extron Electronics is pleased to introduce four DTP transmitters designed to fit in standard two-gang EU-type and MK-type electrical junction boxes. The DTP T EU 232 and DTP T MK 232 send HDMI or analog video, audio, and control up to 230 feet (70 meters) over a shielded CATx cable, while DTP T EU 332 and DTP T MK 332 versions send these signals up to 330 feet (100 meters). These two input DTP transmitters are HDCP compliant and include independent, analog stereo connections. They support computer video up to 1920×1200, including HDTV 1080p/60 and 2K. The transmitters also feature EDID Minder, auto-switching between inputs, remote power capability, and bidirectional RS-232 and IR pass-through for remote AV device control. The wall-mountable design of the DTP T EU and DTP T MK provides the convenience of placing input connections precisely where they are needed.
